Due to lack of meeting turnout in the last few months, we are calling a Mandatory meeting (for but those whom are excused from meetings). We are in need of certain information from a few members, we also nee volunteers for events as well as getting some thing situated for the banquet. All that can come should, and if not you need to call and give good reason, or you will be automatically volunteered for every needed position. (Ha-ha) Many things to do and vote, don't miss it.
(Notes taken by Wayne Hyde in my absence)
Meeting came to order at 7:30 pm when we realized that this was going to be a very short handed meeting. Present were Gary Joy, Gary Labrie, Frank Luongo, Frank Marcano, Bob {princess} Downarowicz, Glen Sherman, Tom Dicario and Wayne Hyde. Very poor turn out. Rumor has it Ruthie was to much for Bob and he threw out his back, another rumor was Jimmy was in the woods at night hunting (is this legal) or just an excuse to roam the woods looking to do something strange.
Frank Luongo will find out what day CCB is working casting kids the 8th or 9th, and get back to Gary Labrie. Casting kids committee is Gary Labrie, Bob Downarowicz and Frank Marcano. We could use another body or two for this group.
Banquet we do not know what is going on at this time. We have no follow up info no date, place and we do not know what we need to bring. We have only two meetings left to square this away. We need to get on the stick.
Also what do we have to raffle off. We need some donations. Last year we grossed $1200 with a profit of $800. We need to do this again.
We still have a open spot on the roster. Anybody having a person that would like to fish with us needs to contact one of the club officers or get them to the next meeting. Also who and where is Roy A ????

October 7, 2002
Meeting brought to order 7:25
7:25: Secretary takes attendance and all accounted for except Bob Iodice*, Charlie Young*, Gary Joy*, Dave Wojkic*, Roy A.
7:45: Discussion and vote for officers for 2002-2003. The only contested position was for President between Charlie Young and the incumbant Frank Luongo. Ending vote tally gave the position to Frank Luongo.
8:oo: Discussion and vote on backup ponds for Bob to take to the Federation in the next meeting. Top 5 ponds voted for are Great Herring 12, Billington 9, Waquaquet 5, Glen Charlie 3, and Lake Sabbatia 2
8:10: Frank Luongo raised the issue of upcoming events, Banquet and Casting Kids for this year on top of the list. Mark Hickey to be commitee head for the banquet.
8:20: Motion to have special Mashpee/Wakeby Tournaments run by Warren Burell. Day and times to be announced.
8:25: Meeting Ajurned
If you didn't show up, I don't want to hear any of you complain about any of the decisions made. It was a poor turnnout to the meeting, less than half the club showed up on one of the more important meeting of the year. We voted in tournament waters as well as nominated some officers, all of which should have included more of the club. There are no by-laws with restrictions on the amount of club members needing to be present for voting these items, so as far as I am concerned, this is final.
Club Officer Nominations are as follows:
Bodies of Water for 2003 (listed by vote total):
I suggest there should be a manditory meeting at the next Tournament, September 29th at Waquaquet Lake, in the morning to discuss these decisions.
Everyone should be at the next meeting to vote for club officers and to get people in line to administer the banquet, fund raising as well as our Youth and/or Clean-up event for next year.

Tough day at Santuit for mostly everyone, except Warren! The only one to be culling at 7:30am, and most of the guys didn't even cull a fish all day! Warren had a total weight of 16.94 lbs, with lunker as well at 5.08lbs! Way to go brother! More pictures here.
Another good note for the day was that we had a large turn out for the club, 22 out of 23 guys showed up to fish!
We also voted on raising the payouts due to only fishing 6 tournaments instead of eight, while leaving the dues at the same rate. First place for a full club will be $230 for first, $140 for second and $90 for third. We also voted to raise lunker pool to $10 per person and we will stop doing the hats. We will also add optional smallie lunker pools to qualifying lakes.

BOB IODICE Top Finishes this Season: |
Memberships:
Regretfully we will be saying goodbye for now to a few membes who decided not to re-join the club. Jim Hickey decided to find another club that runs it's tournaments on Saturdays, we wish him well and will see him around at One Shot. Stu Landers has also decided not to join. And lastly we are sad to see Ken NIckerson go. Not so much because we will miss him, but the jerk is heading down to N. Carolina to fish some major trails as well as take advantage of the great fisheries down there. So we are all just pretty much jealous. Good luck and we hope to see you back here. We would like to welcome Glen Sherman and Steve Pimental into the club, they were both voted in at the meeting.
Dues:
There are a few members who have yet to pay, myself included. If you have not paid yet, make sure you have a check no later than This Sunday at Santuit Pond or you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FISH!!!!!.
Insurance:
All the boaters who aren't sure or now that their policies have been renewed or changed, should contact me before Sunday to make sure I have their papers. If I don't, you won't be able to fish. I will post a list online as well as call the ones I think need to get them to me.
Next Meeting:
Now is the time to start thinking of ponds you want to fish next year as well as if you would like to be more than just a member and run for an officer position. We will vote on a list of ponds as well as nominate officers for a final vote in October.
A little rain for some, some clouds for others, but for the most part a decent day for fishing. The weather seemed to keep a lot of the pleasure boaters inside, and with little wind, there wasn't much as far as rough waters was concerned. A lot of limits came in with both smallies and largies.
Eric Nelson (thats me hehe) won with
13 1/2 lbs of largies, Second went to Mark Hickey with 12 1/2 lbs, who was making me nervous when I saw his bag dumped into the drain sink. Third went to Bob Iodice with over 11 lbs. Here is the results
Boaters:
Non-Boaters
Congradulations to all the guys! Great job this year!

Just as a reminder to everyohne, the dues will be due in hand by by the AUGUST MEETING for the 2002-2003 Cape Cod Bass Season. (we added a few days for convenience) Failure to comply with this bylaw can result in your losing your place in the club and someone on the waiting list to take your place. The dues are $200 the last I checked, please send a check to the current Treasurer (Jim Zarella) any time between now and the August Meeting. This isn't for us to be hard asses, more to make the books ballance faster and as they should from the start. As well as to make the Treasurer's job a little easier.

Seems we are going to have a great turn out for the Winnipesaukee tournament! Last count was 12 boats and 6 non-boaters! This is great for the club! During the meeting we also voted for a few things:
1. Our season normally consists of 8 tournaments, and the payout scale for the year has been paid as such. But seeing that we only had 7 tournaments this year, it was brought up to double the last tournament payout, which passed unanimously.
2. We also voted on changing the optional lunker pool in a few ways:
3. We voted on Paying one night of Bob Iodice's hotel fees to cover some of his costs at the fish-offs. This money will come out of the 8 man team funds.
Treasurer's Report looked great, we should have plenty to send the team to the fish offs and some left over for insurance for next year's budget.
Here is a picture of the sign put up by Ames Farm taken by John Sampson which he posted on NE Sportsman

These seem a lot more leanient than I remember discussing at our meetings, and doesn't sound to bad. But we will have a discussion the morning of to make sure the rules are clear.
The meeting was not very substance rich, but we talked about a few things, including Winnipesaukee. Just as an editorial note, in other words, My Opinion, I remember the club voting on Winnipesaukee unanimously, with maybe the exception being Wojkic who I think was absent that day (excused), to fish this tournament and all who voted for it said they would definitely show. With that said it seems we have a few people backing out, or unsure. This has to be resolved soon and we need to know who is going. All the boaters in the club (myself included) have to take into consideration the vote for tournament, as well as the non-boaters whom may be wanting to fish this one. It would be a shame if a non-boater had to sit out this tourney due to a boater not showing. I am not trying to be a jerk here, I just want people to think about other club members before making a decision that could wreck someone's plans on fishing this tournament.
The Treasurer's Report was extremely positive, and we have Jimmy to thank for the excellent record keeping and planning, as well as the clubs generosity at the meetings and banquet. Even without fund raising tournaments, we have almost, and maybe over, $3000 for the eight man team. It was left open to exactly what to do, but it looks like we may leave a cushion for next year, and pay for ALL the fees, hotels, and maybe some extra gas money for the boaters. This is something the whole club should be proud of, our team will be fishing the tournament without worrying about expenses, only worrying about getting placed 1-12. One shot will also be buying the club Team Shirts for the fish-offs, so we will look good as well.
Bob will be ironing out some issue with a Rhode Island club that seems to be fishing Waquaquet the same day as us this fall. Warren had the idea to show up at 2am and police tape off the entire parking area. I second that personally, but we will let Bob try his persuasiveness over the phones first.
Besides an occasional thunderstorm it was a great day for fishing, and the weigh in showed it. Some nice bags came in as well as some fish stories regarding monster bass cruising and getting away. Mr. 12 Man Team himself pulled out a win by 100ths of a pound and is on his way to losing the "point eight two" nickname. Jim Zarella is trying his best to beat Bob out for AOI, its going to be very close, all he needs is for Bob to DQ himself, or have a bad day at Winni.

The weather was typical for Cape Cod Bass as of late, cloudy, windy and then some rain. Oh well, what did we expect anyway? It actually was nicer than the weather man predicted for once.
The tournament tourned out to be very competitive, with a winner who has been in a slump. Warren Burrel came back to win with 12.66! Great job Warren, from the BACK of a boat no less.. well he actually was seen along side Gary Labrie in the front of the boat most of the day.
Everyone exept Tom and myself caught fish, Seemed to be a real tough bite but we ended up with a large number of 5 fish limits anyway. This tournament wasn't up to reputation with the usual spring tournaments I have heard about from Harwich, but it was a good time none the less.

Seems there is some issues with the MassBass Federation that Ray Lentine felt needed to be made clear and upfront. "I wish there was something positive I can say about anything MassBass does, but I cant." says Ray in his letter. I don't know whether I disagree, but he has made some intersting statements in this e-mail he sent around to Fed members. I posted the e-mail here for people to view. Cape Cod Bass does not endorse this letter at this time, but I, the secratary of the club and web administer, felt it needed to be put up.

Great Fishing!
It was a long awaited beginning of the tournament trails (for me anyway) and it started out great (again, for me at least). We had classic Cape Cod Bass tournament weather, Windy, rainy, chilly etc.. But the bite was on for big fish, and if you were in the right spot, you had a good bag. Although the controversy and suspicion is high with Bob Iodice's hog, he won the tournament with over 20lbs beating Jim Zarella who also had over 20lbs of fish. The two bigger bass of the tournament weighing in at 6.4 and 6.48 both came from Bob's boat, the smaller of the 2 being caught by the non-boater in his first tournament with Cape Cod Bass, Dave Kelly. Great job, and don't worry, we are going run chemical tests to find out if Bob put ex lax in your livewell causing the weight difference!
Results and Standing Updated
You can see the results from the tournament as well as the standings. The photos are to come real soon, I have them its just the matter of getting them formatted and building the page. ( I am currently busy trying to get my boat ready, and occasionally working)
Long Pond - Harwich
All the boaters said they will be going with the exception of Jim Hickey, Dave Wojkic will probably be there but was not at the meeting to say, and Charlie also was not present to answer. A few members can't go due to prior engagements (go figure on Mother's Day), Dave Kelly I believe is one, and Stu will not be going.
The fishing should be interesting, Bob too second and was beat by Ken Nickerson on May 5th by ounces in a non-club tournament held there. Tough bites for most, but they found some nice ones, one that everyone knew about thanks to a certain big mouth *ahem*Mederous*cough* (Just kidding Bob)
Winnipesaukee
After some good arguing and bickering, we decided to leave the date, place, launch where it is. The club voted unanimously to fish there, and these new rules and regs at the lake weren't in place. But we can live with this for one tournament, and next time we will make sure we have our ducks lined up as far as whats going on at the lakes. These new rules came from the suite filed by a Ames Farm area resident, and as much as they as ludicrous, we have to follow them for at least this one tournament.
1. No Outboard Motors can be turned on until you are 150 feet away from shore, then you must idle to the black buoy at Rattlesnake Island.
2. No Launching Before 7 a.m., and boats must go around the Island to go right, no running between the Island and shore.
3. Weigh in will be at the Ramp as planned, but only 5 boats in at a time, the other boats will have to hang out at the Black Buoy until they are called in.
And some more you can see here
These rules are the most silly I have yet to see, and hopefully someone from Mass Bass, B.A.S.S, or the NH Feds will get on this an squash it before it spreads like crabs in a whore house.
Winnipsaukee Issues
For the moment, the complaint has been withdrawn. But history with this type of action against fishing tournaments from residents living around ponds and lakes can be long dragged out battle. This reminds many Cape Cod fishermen of the Mashpee-Wakeby and John's Pond issues that had many people up in arms a decade ago. So don't think this is over, in fact, expect it to come from other lakes and ponds as well. This may in fact start a lot of actions if the federations across New England sit still and do nothing.
Cape Cod Bass Banquet Update
The club raised over $1,100 in raffle money which after costs for buying some of the tackle give away was $275, leaves us with about $800 in money raised for the 8 man team. This is going to be a great year to get on the team, How does a free weekend fishing trip sound to you? Oh yeah.. You may even make the 12 Man Team.
Casting Kids Compitition
February 3, 2002 at the Worcester Centrum Center, the club was represented by Frank Luongo, Frank Marcano, Ken Nickerson, Wayne Hyde, and Bob Downarowitz. They had a great time and completed our responsibility for our youth event.
Winnapasaukee Issues
Seems some lawyer has a problem with fishing tournaments out of Ames Farm. He has written a letter and sent it to authorities in the State and to every club whom has requested a permit to use the facilities. Whether or not this can be held up in court is unknown at this time but may cause some delays or we may have to get permits elsewhere to fish the lake.
Other Pond and Lake Permits
The pond that are all set with permits are Great Herring, Long Pond Harwich, Waquaquet, and Mashpee looks good as well. Mashpee had a little trouble due to a club getting a permit for a Monday, and switching it back to a Sunday, without clearing it with the Mass Bass Federation. This however, due to the rules of the Federation, is not a problem for us. We had the date as far as the Fed is concerned, so we get to fish that day.
As far as the other club wanting to fish at Mashpee/Wakeby the same Sunday, we voted unamimously to not allow them to fish the same day due to the number of boats.
No Treaserure's Report
Our fearless Treasurer, had felt too bad to come tonight.

January 14, 2002
Sportman of the Year
Sportman of the Year was decided on by anonymous paper balot down to a tie, between Charlie and Bob Iodice, finally broken when the last few members added their slips, and Bob Iodice steals the title!
*and the crown roars*
Raising Money
The club unanimously voted to spend $75 at three seperate locations for tackle to be used for the club banquet. Each store is hopefully going to add to the amount in the form of donation, all tackle is to be given away at the banquet.
State Fish Off Update
So far, it seems that the State Fish-Offs will be held in Brurlington, VT. Bob Iodice is currently looking into hotels for cost and services available. Nobody wants another nightmare up their due to lack of sufficient power to charge their batteries amongst some other issues.
Treasurer's Report
Estimates on the Treasury Report look promising, baring any complication in the near future.
Bylaw Meeting (to be confirmed)
Bylaw meeting on February 16, 2002. Members ?? /Officers ?? to be at Bobs house for a complete look over all the bylaws and make changes to be voted on at the March Meeting.
Cape Cod Bass Banquet Update
Everything seems to be going well, not that any of us would compain to the big guy anyway. haha. But seriously, Wayne has done a great job in orginizing this event with the help from Bob Downarowitz. If you haven't signed up for any food, they say to just bring whatever you want, we have a good amount of everything coming already.
