December Meeting

Descent turn out of member but we still have some members not showing as they should. I am noting the absent members and excused or not we are getting to a point where we want to revisit the bylaws governing attendance. On the agenda for January's meeting will be a vote to add a $5 plus a 500 point deduction for unexcused missed meetings. ALL MEMBERS SHOULD ATTEND EVEN IF YOU ARE EXCUSED! The vote will be final and if you are not there to voice your opinion, that will be your loss.

The tentitive tournament dates for 2004 have been posted. One tournament was voted on and changed. South Watuppa was booked all except for June 12, a Saturday before a Military Tournament there. The club voted to fish at Long Pond in Freetown on the 6th of June. The other choice was Billington Sea on the 6th which received no hands.

On behalf of the club, I would like to welcome our newest members:
Lonny French
Bill Fulp
Greg Fulp
Bob Terell
Courntney White
and Curt Young

We have fished with these guys already, but I hadn't given them a proper welcome on the Web site. Good Luck Guys!

Needed information!
If anyone has new addresses or phone numbers, please contact me ASAP with them so I can make sure we have the latest information.

2003 Awards Banquet
Date is to be confirmed, it looks like they have the 14th, which is Valentines Day. I can think of a million places other than a fishing banquet that our better halfs would rather be. Deserts and side dishes needed, heres the list thus far:

East Monponsett Tournament

Jeff Coates - Big Fish

Another great weather start to the spring for a Cape Bass Tournament! But with the bags that came in, not everyone was complaining! Especially the winner Jeff Coates, He had a monster 7.84 lb. largemouth to help bring his total weight for the day to 19.56 lbs. Great job Jeff!

Second place went to Gary Joy with 18.78 pounds, and third went to Eric Nelson with 16.92 pounds.

Results from East Monposett , photos from the tournament and the current Point Standings are also available.

Next Event: Billington Sea May 24th

Be ready for a boat safety check! Which shouldnt be a problem because Im sure you all have read the by-laws and made sure you had everything on the safety equipment list right?

April Meeting

Main issue was getting the rest of the clubs information together. Most of the information was retrieved although a few issues are still about. If you haven't given me insurance papers, regardless of your insurance being out of date or not, I need it. Also, it does not matter if it is autmotically renewed. The thing that is most important to insurance documents is the expiration date.

The other issue was B.A.S.S. numbers. I have numbers for everyone except Roy A., Jim Young (which I may have here somewhere), and I ned to confirm Glen Sherman's number which seems to be off.

Attendance is getting to be an issue again. We will be revisiting the meeting attendance bylaw to possibly give incentive to show up more than just the current miss three and your in trouble one we have at the moment. If you are a new member, please be advised when it comes time to be voted in after your first probation year, you will most likely be voted out due to missed meetings. This is our club's main means of fund raising and club organizing. It is manditory. Please read the bylaws if you haven't already.

Raising money has been going well, new tournemants starting on Tuesday, April 29 2003 at a pond to be announced. 2 Hour big bass tournament with payout to be 75% of the fees paid. 25% to be put into the 8 man team funds.

Tournament are still problematic. We have set most but 2, and a 3rd is questionable but most likely to be a go. Chech out the trail list for more information

Casting Kids in Worcester

First of all big thank you to the guys who went to represent the club this year, Gary Labrie, Frank Marcano, and Glen Sherman. (If I missed your name I apologize) Their are some photos here and I'm sure their will be at the Fed site as well.

February Meeting

The turnout was pretty good for this meeting. The main issues were tournament dates and the upcoming Banquet. (That this Saturday February 15, if you don't already know). The tournament schedule has been hijacked and is in need of serious work to get it taken care of. Bob Iodice is working on it. The Treasurer Report was good, we seem to be on the right track. We will be in the need of good turnout at the banquet to get some funds together for the eight man team. Come, bring food and money, and we all should have a great time!

Secretary Notices

By no later than April's meeting I will need EVERYONE's insurance papers for 2003. If yours does not expire until after April, please contact me and make sure I have last years copy. (I should but dogs tend to eat that stuff) There is NO EXCEPTIONS to this. If your insurance company renews your homeowners policy every year, that is great to know, but I NEED PROOF that you have insurance for this year. Every policy has a start and end valid date. Even if it gets renewed every year with homeowners policies.

Licenses, registrations, safety equipment, and other By-law provisioned items will need to be shown before the start of the first tournament. I will be at the ramp early and inspecting every boat for these items.

Missing Meetings

This is a warning to all who have missed more than 2 meetings. You know who you are and I suggest you come to the next one or our hands will be forced by By-law to take action. This is a club, we don't like being a gestapo, but we need participation from everyone in order for the club to operate properly.

February 15, 2003 - 2001-2002 CCB Awards Banquet

The Cape Cod Bass 2001-2002 Season Awards Banquet will be held at the Eagles Club in Buzzards Bay (where we currently hold meetings). Don't forget to bring the item of food you agreed upon and some cash (bring plenty) and we'll see you there!

Tickets are $25.00 per person
