December 6, 1999

This meeting may be interesting. We have to vote and discuss some issues regarding the Banquet, and I'm sure some other various things. Don't miss these meetings if you would like a say in how Cape Cod Bass conducts itself. This is our only time set aside for how we run our events. See you there.

November 1999

The club voted on the ponds and dates (tentative dates) for our 99/2k season. If you would like a list of the ponds and dates, call or email someone who was there. (Myself, Ron, Gary etc...) All of the dates and ponds are as usual, only if everything goes the way we want it to, which it usually doesn't. So don't use ink. The most mentionable are:

1. Mother's Day Weekend - We voted for a Saturday Tournament
It was the only available weekend in May besides Memorial Day.

2. Winnipasaukee - Good pre-fish opportunity for the club
This will be up for discussion on how we will approach this tournament.

November 1999

This was a productive meeting with some major issues along with some minor ones being discussed.
Amongst the things being discussed between the members were the need for calculating the number of meeting missed by some member. Which according to our bylaws with only allow them to fish for points in our next tournament.
You only should worry about this if you have missed three or more Cape Cod Bass Events including tournaments and Meetings.

Pond Changes:

There was a problem with a couple of tournament dates that we had voted on at the November meeting.

The first was our May 13, 2000 tournament at Wequaquet Lake in Centerville.
It seems we're not the only club that wants to have a tournament at Wequaquet on the Saturday before Mother's Day. The Club Voted unanimously to try to have this tournament rescheduled the prior or the following Saturday, whichever is available. That would be May 6th or May 20th.

The Second issue was less troublesome but still needed attention. That was the Winnipasaukee Tournament in August. We Had to decide on what ramp to use for our launch and weigh in. Meredith and Aton Bay where believed to be available, So Bob Iodice will check to see which one we can have.

The new Tournament Trail is up, if you don't know or you aren't sure about a tournament date and/or place, you can check in and find out here at any time.

Casting Kids:

We were offered a special chance to fulfill our Youth Event commitment by showing up and participating in the Springfield Show's Casting Kids Event.
The club voted to take advantage of this opportunity.

Dues:

Some dues are still due and MUST be in by the January meeting. (That's the 3rd). Please don't put this off, this is your club.

Cape Cod Bass Banquet:

The next meeting will also be the about the banquet for the 98/99 season. This will be when we decide on a date, food, etc. Show up if you want a say in how we will conduct our banquet this year.

October 4, 1999

The club was asked to vote on some issues raised by the Mass B.A.S.S. Federation. The club voted on these issues with only 9 members present at the meeting:

1. The previous treasurerof Mass B.A.S.S. absconded some money out of the account. He has paid most of the money back and still owes $1,200. He offered to pay the remaining amount back in the form of tackle. We were asked by MBF to vote on whether he should be allowed to do this or to make him pay it back in cash.... we voted for the cash!

2. Ray Lentine was alleged to hae gone under the bridge at the sandbar on plane (which is a small bridge with a narrow passage) during the fish-offs on Chaplaine. Several people witnessed this event. He has been invited to next Fed meeting to pleed his case, but we were asked to vote on whether or not to suspend him from the Federation for 5 years... we voted to suspend!

July 7, 1999

Our meeting was cancelled for the month of July due to the Holiday traffic. Our next scheduled club event is the Santuit Tournament on the 25th of This month. This is our last tournament of the 98/99 season and we will be voting on many item in the coming meetings. Including the new Club Officers. We will at least nominate for these positions in August, which will be the month of our first 99/2k season. There is also many Bylaws that people feel need changing and adding so if your not there, you have no vote.

Santuit Pond - July 25, 1999

This is the last tournament for points for our 98/99 season. The points race is interesting and this tournament could make or break many anglers in the club. Check out the Current Point Standings to see the total points for the year. (This doesn;'t count the 2 drops).

Edaville Tournament

The Carver Sportsman Club is holding its annual at the Edaville Reservoir.

Billington T.N.T. - This Thursday!

May 27, 1999
Theres another Billington Sea Thursday Night Tournament this week. Launch is at 6pm and weigh in at 8 as usual. The last payout was $150 for the big fish of over 5lbs!! The more guys that show, the better the payout, so get the word out!

Great Herring Is Next!

June 6th
The next Cape Cod Bass Club Tournament is June 6th at Great Herring pond in Plymouth. Depth Map Available

April 25, 1999

Sampson's Pond
The results from Sampson's pond are still being prepped. They should be up soon. Sorry for the delay. It was a slow day for the majority of the club, but as usual, somebody found fish. Jim Gildae took first place with a nice bag with over 10lbs. Jeff Cardin, Gary Joy and Jim Zirella all had good bag too. The resy of us? Well we didn't do so hot. There's always Wequaquet.

Billington Sea Disapointment

Well we have had 2 tournaments at Billington Sea with bad turn outs. Where is everybody? Gary Labrie, Jim Zerella, Warren Burrell and myself turned out for the first one last week, and Gary Labrie, Jeff Cardina abd myself is all that showed up This week. Pretty sad turn out from our club. You all should be ashamed. If you want to fish the nest tournament, go to the Billington Sea Tournament web site for more info. And remember, ANYONE can fish these tournaments, so tell your friends, relitives, co-workers, strangers in the street anyone. Gary would really like to see a better turn out.

Wequaquet Tournament - May 9, 1999

The next Cape Cod Bass tournament is May 9th at Wequaquet Lake in Centerville. Theres a map of the lake available on this site. With the points looking close, every tournament counts. so don't miss this one!

March 29, 1999

The results from the Monponset Tournament are in! What a crappy day, I think everyone agrees. Cold, wind, rain and the bite was off.

March 29, 1999

East Monponsett Lake
The results from the Monponset Tournament are in! What a crappy day, I think everyone agrees. Cold, windy, rainy and the bite was off. A few of us where able to land fish despite the conditions. Be sure to check out the East Monponsett Results and the Updated Point Standings.

We had a few people leave early and a couple had fish and where disqualified. Be sure to read and know all the Bylaws for Cape Cod Bass. Leaving your boat is not an option if you plan on weighing in fish. This will be discussed at the next meeting.

Due to many problems and arguements, the bylaws are going to be updated and made more clear and less vague. This wil ensure that there is no further misunderstandings in the future about our clubs bylaws.

Billington Tournaments
The Billington Tournaments should start on the third Thursday in April. Gary Labrie is working on getting in touch with the other club who is throwing the similar tournaments and will confirm the start date at the next club meeting.

February 1,1999

February's Meeting:

We had a great turn out at February's meeting, a total of 17 members showed up. (although Ron was late!)

The Awards Banquet date was confirmed for Friday, February 26, 1999 at the Buzzards Bay Eagles Club where we currently hold our meetings. Every member should try to make an appearance so that they can receive their plaques and any awards they may have won. If you didn't fish in Cape Cod Bass last year, you won't be getting a plaque but you still are welcome for the fun and food.
Members who joined for the "99 season will be getting their plaques at the '99 banquet. If you are going to bring something, News & Reviews | This Weeks Results | Trails | Services | Drop A Line | Tackle Store | About BassTrail.com | Sign up! Email: Advertising on BassTrail.com | Product reviewing | Editorial | Contact Information(no pun intended) to Ron Hayes and let him know what your bringing so we don't end up with 20 platters of striped bass. (by the way, I think Warren has that covered!)

Sportsman of the Year

Well, this got a little out of hand. It should have went to me, but I'll let Ron have it this time. (Seeing that all who showed up voted for him, including me!) Congratulation Ron, you deserve it. We all thank you for your work and dedication to making Cape Cod Bass a quality club with some great competitors!

Casting Kids Event Now for the serious business. We have an opportunity to go to Worcester and help put on the Casting Kids Compitition this Sunday, February 7, 1999. This would be the easiest way for the club to get this done, we need to send at least 12 guys from the club and help out. Thats it. We need all the help we can get because if half the club (12 members) don't show up, no fish-offs. Unless we throw our own event which will take a lot of planning and time. Please let Ron Hayes know if you can show. We need as many members as possible.

February 10,1999

B.A.S.S. Casting Kids Compitition

DONE! We had 13 members show up at the compitition at the Worcester Centrum and everyone seemd to have a blast. It was as easy as we expected and it went very well. Some of the attendees were Ron Hayes, Warren Burrel, Eric Nelson, Dave Wojcik, Jim Curry, Bob Iodise, B.J. Haseotes, Jim Gildae, and George Kyriacos. If I don't have your name here, I appologize, this will be updated when I get the complete list from Ron.

January 18,1999

Januarys Meeting:

Absent were: Gary L., Kevin C., Gary J., Jeff Coats, Jeff Cardin, Marc D., Gavin S., BJ H., Tom D., Bob S., and John W. Good News! Warren talked to Alex and he will be picking up a check for $268 which Alex owed to the club.

Jim Curry will be in charge of conservation projects which we must do for federation as well as our youth project. Are youth project can be handled if we can get twelve guys to go to the Worcester show and help with the Casting Kids. Half of our club must attend this in order to qualify as our youth project.

Fed dues were paid.

Fish offs were changed to 8/14, and 8/15 at Mallotís Bay, Lake Champlain.

November 30, 1998

Tournament Changes:

Seems there was some conflicts with the Billington Sea Tournament and the Great Herring Tournament. The solution was to keep the dates as we left them and switch the two ponds. So as of now, Billington Sea will be on May 23, 1999 and Great Herring will be held on June 6, 1999. More details to follow.

The club is still in need of a Club Photographer. If you like to volunteer please call or email Ron Hayes.

At the next meeting (December 7, 1998) the subject will be the Awards Banquet. We will discuss the date, place, time, funds, and last years tournament results.

November 2, 1998

New Meeting Place: Everybody seemed to be pleased with the new meeting place at the Eagles. Access to beer and Monday Night Football excited just about everyone!

New members:

Dues: The first thing on the agenda was dues. This has been a touchy subject for a long time, and the club definately needs to get this under control. The problems caused by dues not being payed on time is unexceptable. There are club members whom have payed their dues and have placed in the money the last few tournaments and have yet to be payed. The deadline for dues was agreed that at least 1/2 of your dues ($81) is to be paid by September 1st and the rest by the first of the year. If your dues have not yet been paid, the club would appreciate your immediate attention to it and contact Ron Hayes so any confusion can be resolved. All checks should be made payable to Cape Cod Bass only. Remember, this money is for your club.

Missing Money: The second issue that was discussed was our checking account. This was a complete mess and Ron has went out of his way to try to clear this up. It seems we have had a check bounce and no answer to where the missing money is. The account has been changed and thanks to Ron, we avoided the bounced
