A huge loss for the our club, federation and many loved ones

A tragic accident occurred this weekend that has struck all of hard, and we all feel for the family of Steve Pimental. He was out enjoying a weekend with long time friends and fellow anglers Wayne Hyde, Frank Luongo and Bob Downarowitz when a bolt of lightening struck him. You can read more in the article in the Sun Chronicle.

The services will be on Thursday, time to be announced and we will post it as soon as we get the information. Meanwhile, send prayers for the family and friends who are all in pain at the loss.

I know I speak for the entire club when I say Steve was a great guy. He was great addition to the club and to my list of friends. He will be missed.

Speaking to Bob D, we had discussions of putting an event together to raise money for charity in Steve's name. I think this would be the least the club could do, and Bobby has my vote. Lets bring this up at the next meeting and get a date for this fall.

June Meeting

The meeting had pretty poor attendance, but everyone who didn't show gave the courtesy call to the club officers. With that being said, one of the main issues of the night was Unexcused penalties for missed meetings. Unfortunately I had the duty of announcing who had penalties. Guys, really I don't enjoy that at all. Please just make the call.

Penalties are as follows:

Carl Anderson: $5 plus 500 points lost
Curt Young: $10 plus 1000 points lost
Joe Quinton: $5 plus 500 Points lost

We also nominated some people for officers, thank you for the few volunteers! If anyone wants Secretary, feel free because you won't hurt my feelings!

With membership changes upcoming, we also have to announce that there may be some spots open. We have people on the waiting list so we shouldn't have a problem filling the spots. Dave Wojcik's name was brought up, and we asked to have him show at the next meeting to discuss his returning to the club.

The treasurer's report sounded great, we seem to have raised a descent amount of money for the team and then some. Great job Bob Tirrell! I think he needs to be voted in as permanent treasurer this year....

Gary Joy basically has the title clinched. Great job Gary! Warren could still pull it off if my calculations are correct, We'll have to wait and see how this turns out!

The next event will be at Billington Sea in Plymouth, July 31, 2005.

The next meeting will be July 11th due to the July 4th Holiday falling on the First Monday.

Wattuppa Results

Watuppa was a nasty hot, slow bite tournament, but even so there wasn't a single person who didn't have a fish! Except me, because I didn't fish it. The top finishers were Curt Young with his first CCB win, Wayne Hyde and Gary Joy in third. Great job guys!
Lunker was a 4.62 lb largie caught by Carl Anderson, nice fish! Another prize pack from the Powder Horn was give with the payout. A thank you to Frank Marcano once again for the great job on the prize.

Webmaster Sleeping on the Job!

My apologies for not updating the site after the last tourney, I thought I had and didn't notice I didn't until today. The photos were posted a few days after the tourney, and boy do I look good!

Thank you to the Powder Horn

The Powder horn has been donating great tackle that we have been using as an additional Lunker prize. I added up the items I had from Ashumet, and it was $60 worth of good stuff! I suggest when any of us has the option, we should go down to the Powder Horn and buy as much stuff as we can carry! And don't forget to tell your friends what a great store this is and to patronize them as often as possible!

Ashumet Pond

Ashumet Pond was a disappointment for many anglers, it wasn't the usual guaranteed 5 fish limit. (Especially for me!) Jeff Coats, Jim Zarella, and Mr. LaBrie found some nice fish and to 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Eric Nelson had lunker with 3.5 lb. largie caught in 25' of water. A cast made to avoid an area where Warren passed by. Nice oops! Payout for lunker was $150.

West Monponsett Skunk Fest 2005!

Gary Joy, Warren Burrell and Jeff Coats proved there were actually fish in the pond, a couple others had a fish as well. 14 out of 20 however, had other views at the weigh in. This has to be on the worst weigh ins I have attended in my 8 or so years in CCB. A huge "that a boy!" to the 6 who had fish! Warren also took lunker with a 4.74 Largie.
