2023 National Kayak Series’ AOY Race Update

Angler of the Year races are heading towards being finalized or just heating up, so lets see who’s making a run for the coveted titles in the kayak game!

Kayak Bass Fishing

The Kayak Bass Fishing Angler of the Year race is always an interesting one with the additional bonus for top 10 anglers who get to compete in The Ten. This season has seen some new faces creeping into the mix as well as some familiar ones.

Mike Elsea and Ryan Mattlewicz both in the mix with one win and some consistent finishes as well Jimmy McClurkan who is doing what he does with consistency. Jake Angulas and Nick Audi both having won not just an event but entire weekends in the Northeast have set themselves up for solid chances at the title. However it's Ryan Nye who has put together 4 great finishes with a little room available or needed to improve. Rookie of the Year contender Wyatt Hammond of North Carolina is sitting solidly in 4th place overall putting him in prime position to potentially take both titles.

Bassmaster Kayak Series

Some more usual suspects in the Bassmaster Kayak Series have kept in the discussion for the 2023 Dakota Lithium Angler of the Year including the 2022 Bassmaster Kayak Championship winner Eric Siddiqi. Nick Dyer has the lead however after 5 events with 4 remaining for the regular season.

Rus Snyders keeping himself in the hunt in 8th place while Jordan Marshall holds the final top 10 spot just 8 points in front of Kristine Fischer. The next stop will be La Crosse and a final stop at the Susquehanna River for anglers to get into the mix!
