Will it be the Ewing Minor show at the Hobie TOC?

The Hobie Bass Open Series (Hobie BOS) Tournament of Champions is coming up on Wednesday, November 8th through Friday, November 10th at Chickamauga Lake in Tennessee. The top anglers in the series will compete for the ToC Champion title as well as to see who will end up as the 2023 Hobie BOS Angler of the Year.

Virginia angler Ewing Minor is currently leading the pack with 2 wins including the Harris Chain and Lake Seminole and 2 top tens from Cayuga Lake and Kentucky Lake. Definitely a solid performance once again by the young angler who missed the 2022 title by only 1.8 points! Currently Ewing is sitting on top with a 9 point lead on Indiana's Jaxton Orr which is a less than comfortable lead heading into the final event.

Ewing also has a slew of heavy hitters in striking distance in the top 10 including Jody Queen and Kristine Fischer both with good finishes in past events at Lake Chickamauga. Let's also not forget to mention Nolan Minor who only 25 points behind Ewing in 4th place.

Rank Angler State Best 4 Points
1 Ewing Minor VA 796
2 Jaxton Orr IN 785
3 Brandon Prince MO 774
4 Nolan Minor VA 761
5 Jody Queen WV 759
6 Dustin Murguia IL 758
7 Jordan Marshall TN 756
8 Caymen Rasmussen UT 755
9 Guillermo Gonzalez TX 753
10 Kristine Fischer NE 753

Lake Chickamauga could be tester for these anglers with the lake low in Winter pool which makes this fishery seem like another lake all together. A lot of common shallow hot spots will be on dry land along with a lot of cover including shallow grass areas and docks that will change completely from the Summer pool depths. This low water situation made a big difference for anglers who were there fishing the Bassmaster Kayak Championship in March of this year causing many to struggle with the fishery.
